NEW DEAL FOR DARLOW

22 October 2012

Goalkeeper extends loan...

THE SADDLERS have extended the loan of emerging goalkeeper, Karl Darlow.

The 21 year-old arrived at the club from Nottingham Forest at the end of September and has made seven appearances so far. This latest deal will see his stay extended until December 22nd.

“Karl has done really well for us,” said manager, Dean Smith. “We are pleased with his progress and I am delighted that Forest have agreed to extend his stay here.

“He’s a young lad who is improving all of the time; he has fitted in extremely well here and is keen to stay and build on the experience he has gained with us already.”

Darlow was with Aston Villa during his formative years before joining the Nottingham Forest Academy at the age of 16.

He has made a couple of first-team outings for the City Ground outfit and had a productive spell on loan at Newport County last term.
